CoPatient

Medical billing in the United States is sort of a hot mess. When you’re issued a healthcare bill, there’s a good chance that some services have been mis-coded, assigned an obligatorily inflated price, or never actually performed in the first place. Never mind having to cross-reference everything between separate healthcare provider and insurance documents.

Enter CoPatient. I was proud to join this team in 2014, where we were tasked with connecting overwhelmed consumers with a team of medical billing experts. We had to craft an attractive, user-friendly platform to act as the antithesis to a complicated and nuanced problem. I was involved in several facets, from establishing processes to connect users and internal staff, to planning the user experience, designing the interface and assets, and crafting the visual brand (the logo, pieces of collateral, promotional items, and all that good stuff).

There’s nothing like working with a dedicated team of programmers and developers to create a solution to a complex problem. A really, really complex problem.
